| WAN Application Acceleration |
|
 |
|
|

|
At Ioscom we design and implement a number of powerful application acceleration and WAN optimisation solutions for the branch offices. These solutions improve the performance of any TCP-based application operating in a WAN environment.
- Riverbed’s Steelhead family of products, and
- Cisco’s Wide Area Application Services (WAAS)
are the global leaders in the field of WAN Application Acceleration. |

Riverbed Steelhead |
|
|
WAAS solution deployments provide
-
lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
-
ease of integration through network transparency
-
reliable voice and data deployment and
-
maximized overall security
The WAAS solution grants LAN-like performance through a combination of technologies:
-
application acceleration: reduces latency and bandwidth utilization through advanced protocol optimizations
-
throughput optimization: improves behavior of transport protocols making them more efficient in WAN environments .
-
bandwidth optimization: minimizes the transmission of redundant data patterns through data redundancy elimination (DRE) and compression. |
|
Riverbed’s Steelhead appliances and Steelhead Mobile deliver high performing and scalable WDS solutions overcoming both bandwidth and latency problems to deliver LAN-like performance to branch offices or mobile workers across the globe.
Key Benefits
-
acceleration of key enterprise applications (by up to 100 times).
-
IT infrastructure consolidation (file, email and application servers)
-
reduced bandwidth utilization (typically by 60% to 95%)
-
enhanced data protection (by speeding data transfer, riverbed enables secure backup and replication)
-
secure application acceleration (can optimize SSL traffic without compromising the end-to-end trust model)
-
enable the mobile workforce (Steelhead Mobile delivers local performance to remote workers wherever they connect) |

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
Ioscom’s advanced encrypted VPNs enable our clients to establish secure, end-to-end private network links by connecting remote branches, offices and the mobile work force.
VPNs are a combination of tunneling, encryption, authentication, and access control technologies and services used to carry traffic over the Internet, a managed IP network or a provider's backbone. We embrace an entire spectrum of technologies and concepts: Security, Firewalls, Encryption, Intrusion Detection and Tunneling. |
|
Advantages: Supported platforms, Firewall inter-operability, Scalability, NATing, Mobile user support Authentication |
Thin Clients At Ioscom we design, configure and implement Thin Client solutions to satisfy your current business needs and requirements whilst taking into account long term IT and Financial volatility. |
|
Our Thin Client solutions
-
enable Rapid Application Deployment and Management
-
leverage all existing investments in hardware and software
-
eliminate capital cost of upgrading PC’s every 2 -3 years
-
support a wide range of applications, Windows based or not
-
require no changes to applications or client hardware
-
prevent end users from tampering client OS or updating desktop applications by themselveS
-
ensure consistency amongst end users of the client application set Version/Release levels
-
eliminate critical data loss at the client. Typically a fix for one client's problem equals a fix for all – Test and deploy! |
|
According to Gartner, IDC and Zona Research:
The TCO (total cost of ownership) of a thin client is from $2,500 to $3,144
The TCO of a PC is from $5,731 to $11,900
The MTBF (mean time between failure for a TC is 9x that of a PC

| SUSE Linux Enterprise |
|
We install and configure SUSE Linux Enterprise (Platform for Open Enterprise™ SUSE Linux Enterprise) on all your processing machines from Enterprise Desktops to Data centres. Our solution easily plugs into your existing infrastructure and it is secure, simple to manage and easy to use.
Linux is reliable, secure and stable. It increases overall IT efficiency while reducing total cost of ownership maximizing your return on investment as you are no longer tied to costly licenses. You buy what matters: a subscription for the updates and services that help you run your business. A SUSE Linux Enterprise subscription costs up to 70 percent less than proprietary operating-system platforms. |

We deploy Backup system software that utilise Data De-Duplication technology.
De-duplication is the process of eliminating or removing redundant files, bytes or blocks of data ensuring that only "unique" data is stored on the backup media. The redundant data elimination increases the number of backup data sets that can be stored as well as the number of available recovery points |
|
BENEFITS:
Reduced backup capacity requirements renders into cost-savings. Lab tests identified a 10-20x plus reduction to be typical with benefits in lower disk, lower power and cooling costs.
Freed up capacity translates to more room for other backup data and longer retention periods with less media management.
Data de-duplication enables better RTOs (Recovery Time Objectives) and improves reliability. Organisations can meet their RTOs since more data is backed up to disk and for longer periods |
